Send Me On My Way
We know and understand that participating in Trek to Teach can be a financial burden. We have prepared a way to mitigate your financial obligation through personal fundraising efforts. When you decide to participate in Trek to Teach, together we can create a fundraising page upon the Trek to Teach website. You can create a video and personal message or use the ones that we have below. Send your personal page out to your friends and family and you will be pleasantly surprised to see how quickly people will want to help you! To make it even sweeter…all of their donations will be tax deductible!
Dear friends and family,
Did you know that less than 60% of Nepal’s citizens can read their own language? Many of the illiterate people of Nepal have much to offer but do not have the opportunity to correctly express their ideas or further their education. Something can be done to improve the literacy rate, and it starts with education!
I will soon depart on a — month long voyage to Nepal to teach in rural schools in the Himalayas. Some of the students have to trek two hours to and from their home to reach the school, and it must be challenging to find the motivation everyday to make this trek. I will do everything I can to influence these students and promote their desire to continue and even further their education. In order to change lives of the Nepali youth, I will need some monetary assistance in reaching these heights. If you could please help me by donating some money to my campaign. The money will be used to pay for room and board with host family I will be staying with, donation to the school I will be teaching at, and to insure I have a safe and comfortable journey to and from the school.
I would really appreciate your help!
Love,
YOU, THE TREK TO TEACH-ER
